I Wish My Home Was Here

This on-going series of work was first shown to the public at the gallery at Seirakusha, Toyota, in summer 2022.

The site was a part of my grandparent’s home, where I used to visit often when I was a child. Now my aunt and uncle’s family uses as a cafe/culture center for the local folks. This home has been around for a long time. The architecture of their home/cafe is about 230 years old. My ancester used to be at this place serving their community as their village official. This place comes with much personal and family history, and it only seemed natural for me to seek out the sense of home here.
